RentYourRocks.com was called in recently by Emma Wall, Personal Finance journalist for the Telegraph, writing a piece called “How I lived the Prada lifestyle at Primark prices”. The brief from Emma was that she wanted our high-end pieces to sparkle glamorously!

I took a trip down to London and it was fantastic to be shown around the Telegraph offices, meet the team and see the photography studio. With a hired pink ruffle dress and black couture dress from www.girlmeetsdress.com our pieces finished her look completely. Emma was wowed by our stunning pieces such as the sparkling Red Carpet Diamond Earrings, the dazzling Circus Tourmaline Ring and the statement Beautiful Rose Pendant. Her colleagues were also amazed and took a moment to try on some of our diamonds and take pictures to send to their boyfriends!

I was really excited to read the article at the weekend as it shows that the Telegraph does “get it”. When renting the lifestyle is so accessible why shouldn’t we have a different look for every party, occasion or invitation, or even just when we feel like it? After all the Celebs have been doing it for years!

Susan’s brief was different – for her first performance of Wild Horses, and the launch of her new album, our brief was ‘traditional, demure and small’ to go with a deep blue long dress. So naturally we went with Sapphires and Diamonds, and Susan honoured us by wearing our Circus Sapphire & Diamond earrings, pendant and ring. Thank you Susan!

Just returned back from the X Factor Studios, having dressed Stacey Solomon, the only remaining female contestant, in £100,000 of diamonds from the Rent Your Rocks collection. Stacey wore a full diamond cuff, with 36 carats of diamonds (new to our collection and not on the site yet), the Red Carpet Diamond Chandelier Earrings, the Circus Ring.
Rent Your Rocks have been asked to go back and dress Susan Boyle next week, and work on another of Simon Cowell’s productions to be aired here in the UK and over in the US. GREAT result for us, to be working on such a high profile show. Cheryl Cole, Stacey Soloman, the styling team and the crew all loved our business, and Louis Walsh topped the evening off telling Stacey she “looked more like a diva than ever before” in her dress and her diamonds. Go Stacey!!

We went along to the National Wedding Show last Friday at Earls Court to see it being opened by Mr Lawrence Lleweyn Bowen & his wife! There were literally hundreds of people queuing around the block waiting to catch a glimpse, waiting for the doors to open to the biggest wedding show of the year, waiting to see what fabulous things they could find inside. Rent Your Rocks were there with bells on, researching, absorbing, listening to mothers / sisters / brides talk ideas, so that when we exhibit there we’ll be completely ready to knock those brides socks off!

We were also thrilled to see that the really really busy stands were those with jewellery – costume jewellery of course. So when the option is there to view our full collecitons at the shows we’ll be standing out from the crowd and answering those brides prayers. We’re super excited about it!

RYR was chosen, from over 1,000 applicaitons, to be given the opportunity to work with a great mentor, Jamie Murray-Wells who is CEO & Founder of Glassesdirect.co.uk. Jamie believed our business to be “consumer dynamite” and saw lots of parallels between what we are doing and what he has clearly succeeded in doing. Times 2 have been tracking us and this week has seen our second stage interview plus a few pics by their team.

Alexandra Blair interviewed me last Thursday, she’s a cracking journalist and has been incredibly supportive of our business. Last time she interviewed Jamie and I together, this time it was done seperately so who knows what will be said – let’s hope it’s good. In fact I know it will be good because we have come so far.

This morning Jack Hill arrived at 10am sharp to ‘take a few shots’ – 2 hours later having shot both myself and Tanya and I together, hopefully he will find that best resembles what and who we are.
